The Dhara Loom Dress is an ode to natural elegance and artisanal mastery. Created from two distinct textiles, it carries both structure and softness in a harmonious dialogue of textures. The upper layer is a textured cotton, hand-loomed cotton fabric, grounded, raw, and full of character.
The inner layer is light cotton, fluid, and airy, giving the dress a graceful movement with every step.
Together, they form a unique interplay of density and softness, creating a silhouette that feels both earthy and ethereal.
At the heart of the design is a handcrafted insert executed in a knot-embroidery technique inspired by macramé. Each knot is tied manually, thread by thread, forming a precise and technically refined pattern. This process requires high skill, patience, and exceptional craftsmanship. Because the embroidery is created entirely by hand, no two pieces are ever identical, each dress carries its own micro-structure and individuality, making it a truly one-of-a-kind garment.
FABRIC DETAILS
The upper layer is handwoven cotton, with a soft, natural texture you can see and feel. The gentle irregularities in the weave make each piece quietly unique, breathable, and easy for everyday wear.
Inside, a lightweight cotton lining rests against your skin, smooth, breathable, and kind to sensitive skin. It adds just enough opacity without bulk, so the garment feels light, grounded, and effortlessly comfortable from day to night.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Crafted slowly by hand, botanically dyed, and woven with sacred care, each piece deserves tenderness in return.
To preserve the essence of your AYA piece:
- Hand wash in cold water with gentle, natural soap. Harsh detergents may strip away the plant-based colors and natural energy of the fabric.
- Do not soak or bleach. Each dye is alive, made from roots, flowers, and leaves. Like all living things, it deserves gentle handling.
- Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to honor the integrity of botanical dyes and maintain the fabric’s strength and beauty.
- Iron on low heat if needed, ideally with a layer of cloth between the iron and garment.
- Store folded or hanging in a cool, dry space, accompanied by herbs or a natural sack.
